Jersey Cheshire Home’s Motown and 70s Disco Night Returns in Tribute to Rex
Jersey Cheshire Home is bringing back its popular Motown and 70s Disco Night on Saturday 21 June, with this year’s event dedicated to the memory of Rex, also known as Tony Marshall, a much-loved supporter and DJ who brought the dancefloor to life at many past events.
Held at the Best Western Royal Hotel, the evening promises to be a glittering celebration of all things Motown and 70s disco, with a soundtrack packed full of classics from Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, The Jackson 5 and more.
Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best retro outfits, with prizes for the grooviest looks of the night. In true inclusive spirit, some of the Home’s residents will also be joining in, ready to show off their moves and have a boogie in their wheelchairs.
This year, the decks will be taken over by DJ Foggy and friends, all of whom knew Rex well and are proud to keep the tradition going in his honour.
“Rex was the life and soul of our disco nights, spinning the tunes and keeping entertained,” said Donna Abel, CEO of Jersey Cheshire Home. “This year’s event is all about celebrating his incredible energy, while raising vital funds for the individuals we support. We can’t wait to fill the dancefloor and honour his memory – Motown style!”
Tickets cost £30 are now available here and early booking is recommended.
